I know it's totally minor in the scope of things, but that rat acting all high and mighty kind of gets on my nerves. Why everyone acts like he's all that competent is beyond me.

Pretty sure it's meant to show the character progression. Both Crocodine and Hymn were such prideful individuals that it means more when they acknowledge someone they know is weaker than them.

Hym isn't acknowledging that thing at all though, though Hyunkel does for some reason. The only reason anyone "acknowledges" that rat at all is because of its supposed newfound sense of "bravery" that it got from continually committing to nigh guaranteed suicide attacks other people had to constantly bail its ass out of.

Anyone could be "brave" like that too, I could stand in front of a high-speed train about to hit someone because it's theoretically a brave thing to try cushioning the blow in the hopes the other person might live, but that doesn't negate the sheer stupidity of trying to punch so vastly outside of one's own weight class. Now the paramedics that show up have double the work because some dumbass thought they could stop a massive multi-ton vehicle without any means to so much as slow it down.

I mean...I suppose? I feel like Crocodine had plenty of character progression that showed respect for beings not as physically strong as him from the moment he fought Dai. As for Hym, given that Hadler said Hym took after him greatly...and we saw that Hadler also showed that similar kind of progression with Dai's constant growth and willpower, that character progression for Hym seems redundant. It feels more like a cheap joke than anything substantial to me. You are probably right though. It just feels like it lacks significance and comes off as grating from a character with so little value to the overall team.

It’s usually better to binge watch this show because the pacing goes fast either after 3 long years I’m probably not gonna forget the experience bingewatching this show

Eh, no, it's not dragging at all. The manga has 349 chapters, but the anime will finish in under 100 episodes. Meanwhile One Piece is currently at manga chapter 1053, and already has 1022 (!) anime episodes....

The anime is definitely being dragged. Some of these things are barely 2 chapters of content. Dai's Adventure is a very popular series, so they're likely dragging it out for that sweet ratings.

I mean seriously, talk-no-justu - why are they always standing around talking! While they talk, old enemy regains strength, new enemy appears. Why can't they just ONCE hurry, kill, move on without telling half their frigging live stories again!
